Jean-Michel Ponzio was born in 1967 in Rognac. After studying communication, he made 3D short films and then sets for advertising and cinema (Batman & Robin, Fight Club, Heaven). In 2001, he signed his first illustrations for the J'ai lu editions, before turning to comics. In 2004, his first album was published by Soleil editions, based on short stories written by Laurent Genefort. He then published the comic book adaptation of a science fiction novel, The Eye of Purgatory, with Carabas editions. Later, his collaboration with Richard Marazano on 2 series reinforces his reputation as an ultra-realist draftsman. In 2008, he adapted Barbet Shroeder's film Inju into comics. At the same time, he continues to design universes for advertising and cinema.
